If there's one thing my children have, it's bundles and bundles of energy! A day spent indoors will ensure they are bouncing off the walls by bedtime and so come rain or shine I encourage them to play outdoors. During the summer holidays, it can be a challenge to keep the children entertained. I'm not a fan of busy, crowded places and so many days during the summer are spent in the garden or in the park and not only is this a completely free activity, but it provides endless entertainment for my pair of whirlwinds!
Germolene have created a guide containing 90 activities for outdoor play over the summer. We just loved it! What's more it's absolutely free and can be downloaded here! Outdoor play has enormous benefits on one's physical and mental health. By encouraging your little one to play outdoors, they will make some treasured, happy childhood memories to last a lifetime. The guide features ideas for garden play, beach play, solo play and rainy day play, to name just a few! There are plenty of ideas to give them a magical summer. My little boy's favourite activities this summer have been making obstacle courses in the garden and making dens! I often used to feel guilty that I wasn't able to spend lots of money over the summer but the guide has made me realise that actually they are currently having a wonderful fun-filled summer.
Germolene kindly sent us a fantastic summer cool bag featuring an array of fantastic items to encourage summer play, including skittles, chalks, coloured card, paints, a frisbee, bubbles, a bucket and spade and an adventure notebook and you can win one too! Just enter the competition below. Good luck!
