The Clevamama Clevapure Salt Lamp: A review

As any parent of a baby, toddler or young child will know, a good night's sleep doesn't always come easily. Perhaps your child goes to sleep easily but then wakes frequently throughout the night, or perhaps they simply avoid being in their bed at all costs, preferring to be held by you? One thing is for sure, a good night's sleep for all involved can be somewhat of a challenge!

My 17 month old is not a fan of sleeping. He usually wakes after 20 minutes of first going to sleep, then frequently throughout the night. It's something we know we need to tackle but it has been difficult to know where to start. And so when we were given the opportunity to review the Clevamama ClevaPure Salt Lamp, I could not have been more keen!

The Clevamama Clevapure Salt Lamp is an authentic Himalayan salt lamp, humidifier and nightlight all in one. I couldn't wait to try it in our baby's room.

Nightlight and Air Purifier

I'd actually been on the hunt for a nightlight for his bedroom for a couple of weeks but hadn't quite found the right one. Many nightlights that I had found online seemed to require charging which I wasn't sure I would remember to do as often as required. This one is mains powered, I was pleased to discover. The soft glow from the lamp gently illuminates the salt rocks which casts an orange glow around the room which is so soothing and lovely. I have a salt lamp in my own room and it is one of my favourite items. I was so pleased to find a salt lamp for the for my baby's room too. There are three light levels so you can select the right one for their room.

The Himalayan salt crystals are renowned for their sleep assisting properties. They act as a natural air purifier and create a restful, calm environment for your little one to sleep in. They help to reduce allergies and irritations that cause respiratory issues.

Humidifier

The lamp also works as a humidifier, releasing a cool mist that serves to assist babies when they are congested, can ease sore or dry itchy throats and soothe upper respiratory symptoms. There are no filters to replace and the humidifier automatically stops when the water has ran out.

Aromatherapy Diffuser

It also can convert to an aromatherapy diffuser by simply dropping some essential oils to the water. I’m a particular fan of lavender as I find it so soothing and relaxing. You could also select other oils, for example, calming chamomile or orange to help reduce stress and anxiety.

So what did we think?

I couldn’t wait to try the Clevapure Salt Lamp and noticed that my little one slept better the first night we used it. He didn't seem to wake so frequently and so seemed to have a deeper sleep. When I used a couple of drops of lavender essential oils in the diffuser, I can honestly say this is the best he has ever slept at night time. I felt like a new woman in the morning.

I can’t say that we have cracked night times just yet as he still wakes up but I have noticed a significant change to his sleep since introducing the lamp to his room. When he does wake up he doesn’t seem quite so distressed as he did before, whether that’s due to the gorgeous glowing light in the room, the humidifier or the salt crystal properties. He currently has a cold so he has been very snuffly and this has woken him up quite a few times. I’m looking forward to seeing if there’s a further marked difference in his sleep once his cold symptoms have gone- I will certainly report back so watch this space! I was reassured that the humidifier would be helping with his cold symptoms, serving to ease his dry or sore throat.

I have been really impressed by the Clevamama ClevaPure Salt Lamp. I love the magical glow that the salt crystals create which is just like the one from my own salt lamp and I also love that we have the option of using the humidifier and the diffuser too. Any product that helps soothe my little one at night time is worth its weight in gold! It’s a thumbs up from us!
