Exploring Places to Eat in Ireland.

A couple of years ago, my husband and I had a very rare, child free weekend away to Dublin in Ireland! We had not been before and couldn't wait to explore the city, relax and unwind and find some places to eat delicious food in too. There were so many different places to explore from pubs and restaurants, cafés and markets too. Dublin's food scene is vibrant with a myriad of different cuisines to explore. While Dublin is home to traditional restaurants, many with Michelin stars, lots of its best food also comes from humbler sources such as food markets and street food stalls.

When we arrived in Dublin, we hadn't made any plans of where to eat but in hindsight, I wish we had researched a little more so we could have really made the most of the options available. That being said, we still had a brilliant time and knowing there are lots more places to discover is all the encouragement we need to make a return trip! I was recently introduced to SquareMeal which is a brilliant resource offering unbiased restaurant reviews, inspiration and ideas for where to dine. It's a great way of discovering different places to eat that you might not have known about. You can learn about different chefs and can browse for restaurants, bars and pubs, private and group dining venues, as well as event, party and wedding venues. With so many amazing restaurants to discover, it's brilliant to have a site to hand with all the information and inspiration you'll need.

We really enjoyed exploring some different places to eat in Dublin. When we first arrived, we headed straight to a little café to grab a coffee before heading to our hotel. We ended up having an Irish breakfast. My husband opted for a full fry up with all the trimmings and I had an eggs benedict. I can still remember this meal; it was so good and that was our first introduction to some of the wonderful food on offer in Dublin!

Over the course of the weekend, we also ate at a gastro pub where we were able to soak in the atmosphere of the pub whilst enjoying some craft beers. The food in the pub was rustic, hearty and delicious; we had burgers with chunky chips! There was a mixture of locals and tourists chatting and laughing, there was Irish music playing and the vibe was high! It was such a good night.

We were also able to visit the renowned Temple Bar Food Market where we were able to grab some nibbles like veggie samosas and potato cakes. I love street food so this was right up my street!

We can't wait to return to Ireland again in the near future. With so many top places to eat, we might just have to make it a week long break!

Have you recently been to Ireland? Did you discover some great places to eat? I'd love to hear more about it in the comments below.
