Make My Blinds: A Review

Since moving in to our new home (now three years ago!) I've been intending to have a blind fitted in our kitchen. I've always felt that the right blind can really compliment a room, both enabling a room to be drenched in natural light or of course, limiting the light flow when needed. The right blind can add style and sophistication to a room and will be as practical as it is efficient. When Make My Blinds got in touch to see if I'd like to review one of their blinds, there could not have been a more perfect opportunity to finally fit that kitchen blind!

Make My Blinds has a huge array of blinds: Venetian blinds, wooden blinds, roller blinds, Roman blinds, vertical blinds... pretty much any type of blind you can think of. What's more, they are made to measure, meaning that your blind will be the perfect fit for your window. It could not be an easier process to order. You simply chose your preferred blind,  measure your window and enter in the measurements. Your blind will then be hand made to your required specifications.

I decided to order one of the fabulous made to measure wooden blinds. I chose a white blind as I like neutral colours in our home and we are also planning to redecorate the kitchen very soon.

This blind is actually made from PVC but you'd never know. It features a faux grain effect that is utterly convincing.

It feels sturdy, is easy to clean and of the highest quality. Each blind is fitted with built-in child safety mechanisms which is absolutely essential if you have young children and so I was very pleased to discover this about them. The blind was easy to install and you can find additional fitting instructions and videos on the website should you require any extra guidance. The blind is also very easy to control and we have found we can now easily control the external light and minimise glare in the kitchen at particular parts of the day.

I've been so pleased with my blind from Make My Blinds and I now have plans to purchase one for the living room. Even when drawn back, the current curtains we have in there feel cumbersome in the bay window and they certainly have been blocking out some of the light available to the room. I will certainly be using Make My Blinds again!

*I was kindly gifted a blind in exchange for an honest review.
