Create a Stress Free Office Move!

Moving office can cause a fair amount of stress. Not only will you have to pack up everything in the office, but you'll need to ensure it is transported to the new location whilst also minimising the time taken to do this in order to resume business as soon as possible. Luckily, with a little bit of organisation and help, it doesn't have to be a daunting task. Here are some tips to ensure you sail through your office move!

Accept offers of help
You'll probably have a few people offer to lend a hand either on the day or in the days prior to, or following the move. Why not take them up on the idea? You could make it into a social occasion, everyone helps to pack (or unpack if you're in the new office) one box in exchange for a cup of tea and a slice of cake. It's also a great way of catching up with colleagues and you may even find you are able to have some work conversations too.

Organisation
Choose coloured stickers to pop onto boxes in order to distinguish between those for specific areas of the office, eg filing cabinet or desk for example.

Pack an essential box
Pack a box containing a few essential items that you will need to find straight away to resume your work. This could include your laptop, important files, pens etc. Make sure you clearly label this box or keep it separate from the others so you can select it straight away.

Hire a removal service
This will save so much hassle. They will take care of moving your office contents to their new location. They will pack up the van and unpack the boxes at the other end which will make the day go by effortlessly and smoothly. Office removal in London doesn't need to be hard work!

Tech set-up
To ensure you can resume business and avoid disruptions you'll be keen to have your phone, internet and servers all transferred and ready to go. Ensure you have liaised with your IT department or phone and internet suppliers in advance.

So there you have it, a few little tips for making your office move smooth sailing. Have you recently moved office or do you have a move on the cards? I'd love to hear more in the comments below.
