Celebrating a very special friend's birthday-Pandemic style!

Like many things this year, birthdays haven't quite been the same. Across the UK, restrictions remain in place on social gatherings to prevent the spread of Covid19 and so many events, get togethers, parties and meet-ups have had to be cancelled or put on hold. What a strange time it has been! And so, this year, more than ever, it has perhaps never been quite so important to keep in touch to let friends and family know you are thinking of them, even if this hasn't been able to be done in person. Despite the restrictions in place, there are many ways to celebrate the birthdays, anniversaries and special events in our loved ones' lives. 

This month a very special friend of mine had her 40th birthday. We haven't been able to see each other very much at all due to the lockdown and the restrictions that the pandemic has brought about; in fact we have only met once, in my garden, just after my baby was born. Despite living very close to each other, her postcode is now in a higher tier of restrictions than mine is and so for her, household meet ups aren't now possible. It felt more important than ever to make sure she still had a wonderful birthday and knew that I was thinking of her and celebrating her birthday with her- lockdown style!
